Southwest Research Institute: The Bioengineering Section of the Southwest Research Institute has been active
for many years in assisting our clients with the development and
commercialization of medical devices. This section primarily focuses on product
development and device evaluation. Product development experience includes the
development of a wide array of medical devices requiring electronics,
algorithms, software and mechanical engineering. The department is capable of
taking a project from concept to design, to development, and then on to device
evaluation. We are ISO 13485 certified and compliant with the FDR QSR.
Frequently, we are called upon to serve as a supplementary engineering and
testing resource for both large and small companies as a cost-effective,
temporary method of expanding their in-house capabilities to bring a product to
market. We can also build commercial-quality prototypes and can supply drawing
and documentation packages that can be used to solicit bids for the manufacture
