Blackwell Plastics, founded in 1939, is the largest custom plastics injection molder in the south central United States serving South Texas including Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Corpus Christi.
The Plastic Injection Molding department operates 30 machines from 22 to 600 tons. We process most commodity and engineering resins on machines with capabilities for multiple core pulls and hot runner systems.
The Plastic Extrusion department operates 5 extrusion lines to 3 ½ in screw diameter and specializes in short run custom profile, rod, pipe and tubing. Our plastic extrusion department processes many commodity and engineering resins including HDPE, PP, PS, PC, POM, PPS, TPU, rigid and flexible PVC. The finishing capabilities include saw cut to length, fly cut, or coil to large and small reels.
The Secondary operations department provides value added services that can not be completed during production. These services include machining, turning, welding, assembly, inspection, packaging and other manufacturing services specific to customers.
The Tool and Die shop has the capability to build any injection mold that we would run on our injection molding machines. We also build all extrusion dies, sizers and downstream fixtures in house. The tool and die shop primarily operates as a support for tool repairs and maintenance of our customer tools. We do not operate as a commercial operation that builds tools for production outside Blackwell Plastics.
