About the GCMDM

We are a local community of design, engineering and manufacturing companies that are working together to commercialize medical devices and life science products developed in the Texas Medical Center and Gulf Coast region.

Our membership meets monthly to network and educate each other to the engineering and manufacturing capabilities and opportunities in the region. Company members are involved in the product realization process of medical devices and are represented by senior management.  For information about joining our association, please call or send inquiries to the contact listed in the contact us portion of the website.

For individuals and companies interested in learning more about the process of commercializing a medical device we offer a Device 101 course quarterly at various local venues and have information listed in this website outlining the basic process of commercializing a medical device. You are also encouraged to contact any of the member companies directly to discuss your application.

Send mail to info@gcmdm.com with questions or comments about this web site. You can also view our Committees that Serve You.

In carrying out its objectives, it is GCMDM’s firm and resolute policy, to which no exception is made, that all GCMDM activities shall be conducted in strict conformity with applicable laws.  GCMDM will not condone any violation of its policy in this regard, and any member or employee who violates such policy will be subject to expulsion or discharge from the GCMDM.

(b) No effort will be made by any GCMDM body or member on behalf of GCMDM to collect information from or disseminate information to GCMDM members concerning prices, terms and conditions of sale or purchase, marketing, distribution, production, consumption, market territories, or customers, without prior clearance from the GCMDM Board of Directors.

(c) No GCMDM activity shall be used as a means for effecting or discussing any understanding or agreement, written or oral, formal or informal, expressed or implied, to boycott or to exclude from competition any person, company, or other legal entity.

(d) No person shall be unreasonably excluded from participating in GCMDM activities.  Efforts will be made to ensure that interested persons will have access to GCMDM activities.

GCMDM treats all its members in a fair and equitable manner.  All activities of GCMDM are to be conducted fairly, responsibly, and in good faith, and with the intent, purpose, and effect of furthering the above stated purposes and goals of the GCMDM without favor to one member over another.

4. Political Influence

The GCMDM Board of Directors, as the policy-making and governing body of the GCMDM, has endorsed participation by GCMDM members and committees in programs that seek to enhance the knowledge of medical devices and the resources available to manufacture such devices.  However, caution should be exercised by GCMDM members participating in these programs that no impression of attempting to influence legislation exists.
